Primarily 180-page diary (1942) detailing Hollerin's daily activities while training in the Royal Air Force. Includes description of his instruction in subjects such as navigation, signals, and bombing theory. Other topics include his trips home to Scotland while on leave; his experiences while learning to fly; his posting to Canada and to Turner Airfield in Albany, Ga., for flight training; correspondence with friends and family; and recreational time, generally spent watching movies and playing sports. Collection also includes a black-and-white photograph; RAF pin; WWII medal; and wings patch. Acquired as part of the William B. Hamilton Collection of British Manuscripts.
